Risk of rain 2 skins how to#
Let’s take a look at all of the alternate skills here and how to unlock them. Certain Artifacts may also help when it comes to collecting a certain number of one item type. You’ll need to complete a variety of different requirements to do so but this can be accomplished even at lower difficulties. The devs don't want to tempt anyone in- whether the unlock is cosmetic or not.Along with the starting loadout, each Survivor in Risk of Rain 2 has alternate skills that can be unlocked. It's not meant to be fair, and a very broad majority of players are not going to enjoy something like that.

You can clear every stage of monsoon and still get a rush from pulling it off. It was fun the one time (everyone was dissing Acrid at the time so I wanted to flex his strength off), and then I said nevermore. Most players simply won't find that fun, and it's difficult to the point of not really fair.Īnd on the flipside- I didn't *need* an achievement or bauble to convince me to do something stupid like that. Should I have gotten a bauble and been awarded an achievo? Most people are probably gonna say no. We're just pointing out that in this situation the challenge is too much for most of the player base to deal with.Īs an example, I've personally cleared monsoon (pre eclipse) without any items whatsoever. It should be something that pushes you beyond your limits, and rewards you for reaching further than you ever have before! I mean more or less the people on your thread agree with the concept you're presenting. I don't think the point of a real achievement should be something you have to do. Do you really need 100% achievements so badly that you would deny others who want ridiculously hard achievements from having goals? Isn't the fun of achievements being a challenging goal to reach? It should be something that pushes you beyond your limits, and rewards you for reaching further than you ever have before! It took me a few tries, and jumped up out of my seat upon unlocking it. I got a decently lucky set of stages and I worked really hard on it knowing the opportunity was only there for a short while. What about "Mercenary: Ethereal"? I don't think I'll forget the time I unlocked this achievement. They're literally unlocked by just playing the game normally. Let me ask you this, did anyone of you remember the time when you unlocked "The Basics" challenge? Or the "Elite Slayer" challenge? No, probably not. Its kind of insulting actually in fact it makes everything less meaningful. It's not fair to those of us who like having a prize for doing something actually challenging, that we should dumb down all the requirements just for you to get a 100% completion, that doesn't even mean anything. (Which I also support being really hard).Īlso if you're going to obsess over getting 100% achievements, you should also be prepared to really show mastery over the game. Even one of the hardest challenges actually does lock something functional, being the Mercenaries ethereal challenge.

It's not like we'd be locking anything functional behind beating Eclipse. Eclipse being even harder than Monsoon, people who can beat it definitely deserve some skins! The whole point of the Monsoon skins were a little aesthetic treat for those who could prove their skill with a specific character. See I don't get what everyone's obsession with 100% complete achievements is.
